When A Fast Food Order Gives Me Joy

And now from the files of super-gaydom…

I’ve always been fascinated by the manipulation of emotions through music, or storytelling, or word choice, or motion. It’s amazing how easily I’m affected. I can get totally teary from a simple story in the mouth of brilliant storyteller. And I can cry at a wordless dance mated to simple music. And now, somehow, I’ve become mesmerized by this prank. The premise is that a guy named “Giorgio” and his buddy go to a Sonic and place an order by singing to guitar accompaniment. It’s a small, stupid moment, a video designed to waste three minutes of your workday, but I love it because, as you will see, it’s an innocent prank. Really innocent and Giorgio’s melody is wistful and hypnotic. Then there is something about the girl’s guileless giggles that makes me smile from the inside out. But guileless giggles from girls always do that to me.

UPDATE: Found out that the dude’s name and more after a simple google search. Apparently the vid is blowing up. So you’re probably hearing about it here last.

Excellent. I’d pay to hear more Giorgio.

  2. Their next gig is at Taco Hut on the 4th. You don’t want to miss that, because the acoustics in there are off the chain (and so are their stuffed jalepeno poppers).

  3. MmmmmmmmmmmmmmmMEH!!!!

I’m kidding. Kind of. I like Sonic though.

  4. Anachronite says:

WTF the damn video made me teary eyed as well. Pure magical greatness.

  5. Hotdog Neck says:

Good clean fun! None of my high school buddies were talented. So we would troll by putting on Star Wars costumes and walking in to convenience stores while playing the Star Wars theme on a boombox. Giorgio has skills!

  6. how ’bout posting/reposting your early morning experience in the drive through from some months ago…PLATINUM!!!!

  7. CWW says:

He’s Black. (said in Norm voice)

  8. A long time ago, from a galaxy far, far, away …. glad to see you still have a great perspective on bringing to light the bright side of the little things in life … hope all is well … Jill

  9. Justin says:

    They still make Mello Yello?

  10. JS says:

I am a bit suspicious of this because, before he began ordering, she asked him his name. Since when did Sonic begin asking for your name when you place an order at the drive-thru?

It appears to me asking his name was part of the script, so he could be able to sing it to her.

Nice try “Giorgio” but you can’t fool a seasoned P1!

Awwww…Gordon, that’s cool! And there’s NOTHING wrong with ” guileless giggles that makes me smile from the inside out.”
I also wondered about the girls asking his name…what’s going on there? Fake?
