Meet Sam

This is Sam. If you were listening this morning at 8:15, you heard his sparkling personality and his sunny outlook. It is refreshing to hear such hope in his voice because Sam has a uphill battle that most of us were spared. Sam has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. You must read his story and learn how you can help his dad keep Sam, and others like him, out of a wheelchair.

Great segment. Especially with the trials his dad has endured over the past year. I needed that this morning. It sure puts the trivial irritants of my life in perspective. Go Sam! And, go Sam’s dad!

I was driving my two boys, ages 3 & 5 to montessori school when that segment came on and was almost moved to tears. What a terrific outlook and positive attitude from both father and the son. The exchanges between George and Sam were pure gold! Thanks Musers!

Thank-you Gordo! Sam is an awesome boy. My son also has DMD. You guys are the best! Thanks for letting Sam’s story be heard!

Great interview. So good to hear about the special bond he has with his Dad. Just when things look crummy in your own house, you don’t have to look far to find that there are others that are fighting something much greater than what we have to. Very impressed with that family and with the Ticket for putting them on the air.

thank you for sharing and supporting. my wife and i lost our son three months ago to duchennes. it’s a tragic, heart breaking disease that shows no mercy. we were blessed to have our son with us as long as we did. we still hope for a cure so other families won’t have to endure the loss of a child to MD.

His dad looks like George’s nemisis Jody Dean in that picture.

This website fucking sucks. For the love of all that’s holy, please pull the plug on this waste of webspace you fat lazy slug (hey, that rhymed). Site if uninformative, irrelevant, and provides zero entertainment value. Now go look in the mirror and debate good vs. evil and whether there is life after death. You will have your answer to that question soon enough worm bait. Deal with it, you are not really that special.

I am a nearly Day – 1 P1 and have known John and his family for some time. My wife and I ran the 2006 NYC Marathon for Sam and his family. We continue to give and I can’t tell you how great a cause this is.

I trained at night for that event listening to the WAC. Now Sam is sitting with you guys in drive-time telling his story first hand. The cost of time, six pairs of running shoes, body glide, blisters and a severe heat exhaustion is still not enought to equal the gift of walk.

The two kinds of good I enjoy (funny and worthy) met today.

    Thanks
