The Winner? Lady on a Segway. The loser? Most of us.

This woman is not lazy.

Thanks for all the votes on the most Idiocratic image of the recent Gordon Keith dot com slideshow. The lady on a Segway pushing a baby stroller was the leading vote-getter. But wait, there’s something else you should know. Turns out, the lady isn’t quite as lazy as we thought.

I hate myself. Beartrap alert.

Cancer is bad. 100% guarantee it will take me down one day. But Segway riding on one leg while pushing a baby stroller with a baby in it across a four lane road seems to be a poor safety choice for the baby.

    From the Segway Manual
    Step 5: Stepping On
Before you attempt to step on for the first time:
Have your spotter stand in front of the Segway PT, face you, and hold the Handlebar securely with both hands. Your spotter should be prepared to firmly hold the Segway PT to keep it from moving.

Putting a lot of faith in the gyro-magic not failing.

    • Mnemonic Armadillo says:

No – this is not idiocracy – fool – being an idiot is not idiocracy!
Surfers taking advantage of a tsunami is not idiocracy, cretin – it is foolhardy, but foolhardy is not idiocracy – taking a risk is never idiocracy –
Idiocracy is always about making extreme something that is really easy – so everyone can enjoy being extreme -

    • Mnemonic Armadillo says:

Idiocracy is a product of marketing –

      First kill the lawyers –
Then kill the marketing department -

Things in the story that made me uncomfortable.
    “sores on her stump”
    “limb salvage”
    appropriate for the beartrap award.

When will the Beartrap moment of the week return? I miss it!

  7. Maahs says:

I think making fun of cancer survivors using Segways as a means to navigate this world is SUPER GAY!

  8. Human, Internets says:

    Woupse.

  9. Greg says:

Thanks to the internet now we can find out everything about everyone and everything. Just like Gordo being an f’in ahole to this cancer lady.

Cant we go back to the days of point, laugh and move on?

    Kidding.

  10. Jarod says:

    HAHA You’re a dick!! I love you.

  11. Mnemonic Armadillo says:

Ha Ha – if she won the vote, then most folks on this forum have no idea what idiocracy really is – I never thought the segway woman pushing a baby stroller was idiocracy – kick az nachos or brando lip balm is idiocracy –

Idiocracy has a flavor – a certain feeling, out there – that something is a bit too – too something

It isn’t what you consider lazy – some of the greatest men of history have been quite “lazy”, so to speak -

Again, you have confused “idiocracy” with all that you despise – no, she was not kicking anything up a notch – clearly – only an idiot would think that she was kicking anything up – that must be the most pain in the ass way of pushing a baby stroller – that’s not kicking it up.

Idiocracy is about “extreme-izing” things that are easy to do – that way, everybody can join in on the fun.

    • VWragtop says:

As much as Mnemonic Armadillo might confuse me from time to time, this time I have to gagree.

    • eRacer X says:

      I’m gonna have to disagree.
What doesn’t make this idiocracy is the fact that she has reason to need the Segway…and she doesn’t have a beer hat on.
The picture is worth a thousand words, but in this case the story is needed behind it in order to discount it all together from the idiocracy category. Definite bear trap picture.

Now, take away the NEED for it, and put someone up there who just wants to have a kick ass time pushing a stroller while on their Segway, especially when they’re the size of this young lady…well, I’d say that’s mild idiocracy.
Now, put a beer hat on her, tie a leash with a dog on it to her belt and mount a boom box in there somewhere and then you got you some spicy idiocracy…and a picture of my dream girl.

Sad weekend for me…I found out that the Dombeck mams enjoy the company of brothers. 10 years of watching NBC5 traffic, all for nothing. I am grossed out beyond belief. No funeral, head shot, oh wait no, just going to the Loon and drown my sorrows.

Ya know, you’d at least think all the folks that voted for or insulted this woman would be man enough to come forward on this post.

    Gordon,

At what point does it dawn on you that you, yourself, are every bit a part of the so-called “idiocracy” that you appear to be obsessed with?

    • Gordon Keith says:

I think we’ve acknowledge that many times on the air.

      • mark says:

        Gordon,

Fair enough. But why then do you perpetuate it with this site? Surely a person as witty (and do I dare say thoughtful) as you can come up with a better use of your website. Yes? If the answer is “no,” then why ever talk about the so-called “idiocracy” in the first place? Just embrace it.

Spent several days in Dallas last week. It might be the most idiocratic city in the world. And now Mr. Rydell has confirmed it. Lighten up, Francis.

Thanks for the beartrap warning that was a whale of a trap.
