So that’s Danny’s flask he has in his car if you want to join him for an after hours drink.

I hope the parents of those “unschooled” kids are ready to support them for the rest of their lives cause playing on the computer and watching TV isn’t gonna look too good on any job application.

Then again maybe professional slacker will be a booming business by the time they’re ready to head out on their own….

You know who asks the question; Do we live too long? The guy who has never been given a 20% chance of survival and spent 18 months in a Chemotherapy Hell. That’s who asks that question. In the abstract as an academic question it might seem quite enlightened to asks such a “bold” question. When it is your fanny on the line, well, it ain’t academic. Even the smallest organism will fight for its life. The better question is; Is my life contributing?

I wonder if he voted for Obama…

If you are referring to the author of the Do we live too long article, the answer is a big 10-4. The entire backing of the National Healthcare issue is built upon the “Complete Lives System”. You know, the “Death Panels” that sends all the progressives into a blind rage. Remember how Obama told us, “We won’t pull the plug on Granny” and his audience all laughed. There will be rationing. You can read all about the Complete Lives System for yourself, anyone can. The bottom line is, as you get older, you aren’t as productive to the whole and therefore, there is less return on the cost of your care. Which is all very logical and linear. Unless, unless, it is YOU that requires that care. It will be ten years before the realization of what the Complete Lives System really means for Americans. It will be an unhappy discovery and far too late. Oh well, we were promised change. I guess we’ll have to wait on being hopeful.

About 90% of Medicare dollars are spent in the last 2 years of life. If there is going to be enough money to make Medicare and the recently passed healthcare program work, it is fairly obvious where the cost savings are going to have to come from. So, the Right understands this (and the informed probably even agree that this is where cuts must come). The Fox spin takes this fact and scare mongers their listeners. Then their messages are puked up all over talk radio, on blogs, and in responses to questions about the serious issues of end of life care this post brought up. This is a major issue and one that requires introspection and analysis, not campaign and tea party slogans.

We are singular in America in our attempts to take whatever measures, whatever pills, and all means possible to extend life, regardless of the quality of life at the end. In the rest of the world, they make their elders comfortable and take care of them at home and when the end comes, it comes. Not here, we send them to institutions to drug them up and let them deal with our elderly. Institutionalizing our elders ends up being incredibly expensive. In a limited resource reality that some are unwilling to accept, this is where cost savings WILL come. I supsect we will ease into situations where institutionalizing the elderly will only be available to the rich and the rest of us will need to provide the majority of end of life care at home. Is that really so very evil/socialist/Hitlean/spawned of Satan/people hating/liberal/commie?

Yup, they’re all out to get you.

Yes, but Gordon has so much fun mocking of Sarah Palin, that he missed what she was saying. Liberals like Keith will be the victims of this bad legislation as well as the rest of us.

I am an IT manager, and I think I’m gonna sneak into someone’s PC and set this as their home page. When they call me to see it, I’ll pretend it looks normal to me.

Also, is the volcano why it appears to be so windy there in Iceland or is that normal? All pics look windy as all get out…

    Gordo,

I heard you talk this morning about SNL stealing all of your high quality, made in the USA content…and I will tell you, I immediately thought of you when I watched this sketch. Listen for Jason Sudeikis use the term “front butt”. Now I’m not saying you’re the first to think of front butt, but there is nobody that promotes the front butt as much as Gordon Aloysius Keith III Jr.
