Junior’s ghost explained

Yesterday, Junior told the fascinating tale of the ghost that visited his wedding four years ago. In way of background, Junior was married in a old hotel in Santa Fe that is known for having a famous ghost, Julia Staub. Julia was a rich woman who lived in that building in the 1800′s, which at the time was a private residence. One of Julia’s childs dies very young, leaving Julia heartbroken and homebound until her early death. Now she haunts the building.

Junior gets his wedding album and discovers that Julia appears in one of his wedding photos. She is looking through the window at a creepy-grinned Spank Miller. The ground outside that window is about 8 feet below the sill, which mean she would have to be hovering or Manute Bol. Many people say that the picture is photoshopped. It is not. There is a tall adobe wall outside that window, which is why that pane appears to have a different backdrop that the others.

Well, the mystery has been solved. Continue reading

TV Shows

TV shows wanted...

I have been catching up on a lot of shows lately. As I have said on the air, outside of Lost, I don’t follow any show from week to week. Can’t remember when they come on and it feels like a burden. So I wait until the whole season comes out on DVD and then I sit down over the weekend and lose muscle mass on the couch.

I watched the first season of Madmen. Not blown away. Almost finished with the first season of Heroes. It is ok, although everyone is telling me to bail after the first season because it deteriorates in the second. I’m finally watching the last Sopranos season. Greatness. So I threw out the call on the air “In what shows should I invest my time?”

From the email response, by far the leading vote-getter is Breaking Bad on AMC. Others mentioned the Wire, which I love and have watched all but the final season of. Others include: Weeds, Trueblood, Big Love, Deadwood, How I met your mother, Dexter.

I’ll leave comments on. Rate and debate. And paint Gene Simmons face on the this Mona Lisa of a website.

But dude, its funny...

But dude, it's funny...

I knew it wasn’t just my imagination. Others have also been surprised at how our community has failed to handle commenting in public spaces. D Magazine has suspended comments, now WFAA.com has done the same.

Two words: People suck. If we flung open the doors of the Louvre and instructed people to “just behave,” within ten minutes the Mona Lisa would look like this.
