Missing Allen girl

Meg CherryCan you help?

I received the following email last night.

Gordon, I am an avid P1 listener and a teacher at Allen HS. Megan Cherry (AKA Meg) is a student of mine, and has been missing since Friday Morning February 6th. Please read the information below on air as soon as you can, and announce the telephone numbers (Allen Police Department and/or Missing and Exploited Children), make of car, license plate, and any information below. I feel like my heart is missing from my chest, and I can’t even begin to imagine how her family feels.

Not to make light of the situation, but am I the only one that read the headline as “Missing Alien Girl”?

  6. eRacer X says:

Yes, gorDonkie P, you were the only one out of the 13 people who write on this blog to read it like that.

    Godspeed Megan.

I don’t know if it’s acceptable to change the subject here, but two Star-Telegram items are loosely Ticket-related.

Rumors about George Strait opening the new Cowboys stadium:

I wonder if this guy got his idea from a Gordo Valentine’s day card:

Thank you so much for posting this. Megan is one of my former students, and it makes me sick that something may have happened to her.

  10. Me says:

maybe I haven’t seen the right news outlet, but I got this in email today and also seeing it here on Gk.com. I have been on a couple of different local news websites and have had the evening news on and have yet to see anything there. Anyone know why, or am I just missing it?

Usually amber alert or something…..with a week behind us since she was last seen, lots of time lost.

who cares about concerts at a new stadium, if this girl missing is legit, why isn’t this plastered everywhere? (not trying to cast doubt, just bringing up a point)

  11. Duncan says:

Megan was found today (2/18) in San Angelo, TX. She appears to be safe. The family will provide more information when they are able.

I, too, find it weird that there isn’t much known about this case. Popular girl who just disappears. “MAY have taken the family car”?? Really? May have?

  13. Erin says:

She was found today in San Angelo. Thank you so much to everyone for getting the word out!

  17. zippy says:

well, she was found. chalk up a win for the “stop-down” that is: hot missing white girls. now let’s return to some real issues.

  18. Joe says:

Allen detectives are determining whether they will file charges on a 16-year-old runaway who was found about 300 miles away in San Angelo.

Megan Cherry reportedly stole the family vehicle in early February and disappeared. A Department of Public Safety officer initiated a traffic stop for a speeding violation and once the tags were run the vehicle was reported stolen and she was arrested Wednesday afternoon.

“The car was reported stolen and she was listed as a runaway,” said Gerald Marshall, Allen police spokesman. “She is in custody in San Angelo and could possibly be facing charges for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.”

Marshall said police will transport Cherry to the Allen juvenile holding facility today. Detectives will interview both the parents and the teenager to determine whether the felony charge will be filed. If the charge is filed, police will transport Cherry to the Collin County Juvenile Detention Center.

Allen police believe Cherry ran away due to a verbal disagreement with her parents.

Marshall said they dropped her off at school on Feb. 6 and teachers reported she never went to class.

“We are happy she is fine and doing well,” Marshall said. “We are happy she is safe.”

any update on this? she’s pretty cute and appears normal. but high school chicks have a mind of their own. possible she ran off with a boyfriend after a fight with her parents? my sister hated my entire family for most of her high school career. wouldn’t have surprised me to see her ‘bounce the scene’ for a while. hopefully it’s something of a voluntary basis.

  20. Hotdog Neck says:

my above comment was apparently made 4 days after the news story (that I didnt know about) regarding her being found.

that being said, im glad they found her. too many people end up as bodies for stupid reasons….. nice to hear a fairly happy ending for once. unlike most massages i get.

  21. Boo Boo Riviera says:

I didn’t leave the comment above from “booboo”.

I am sad that someone would think that I would judge a girl for running away but my SOUL is hurt that they abused ellipsis in my name.
